Reading Day 2015

Last year, we had our first Reading Day which was very enjoyable for everyone involved. At one of our class meetings, the children decided that they would like to have a reading day again this year. A date was fixed (26th March) and the older children organised a schedule for the day as well as preparing the library for tea, coffee and cakes afterwards. All of the children worked hard on their stories. Thanks to all parents, grandparents and friends who came along on the day to hear the children read. It was wonderful for the children to have an audience, especially members of their own families to hear them read. They were very proud of their stories.

An added bonus was the game of skittles that adults and children played in the hall at the break. We discovered that some of the parents are very competitive! Again, the children really enjoyed playing with the adults.

At this stage, the Reading Day will no doubt become an annual event.
