Joanna Kearns (teacher in SSP) has done a survey on the most favourite TV-programs of the children in the school. In the introductory session on the day we will watch an episode of the top rated TV-program in the survey. We then will analyse it along the lines of gender statements and stereotypes.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kevin Davison is a Lecturer with the School of Education at The National University of Ireland, Galway. He teaches, researches, and publishes in the areas of: gender and education, masculinities and schooling, research methodologies, and science outreach. In addition to a number of academic articles and reports, he is the author of Negotiating Masculinities and Bodies in Schools: The Implications of Gender Theory for the Education of Boys<\/i> (2007, Mellen), and Masculinities and Schooling: International Practices and Perspectives<\/i> (2007, Althouse).
\nIn his presentation Kevin Davison will address the debate on role models for boys.<\/p>\n
